Fairy Ring Cushion

Fairy rings are naturally occurring circles made up of mushrooms. They have spiritual myth that stepping into the ring will bring bad luck. Inspired by the textural patterns and shapes of various fungi, the cushion cover is woven on a jacquard loom and Shibori dyed with indigo. The fairy ring image is silkscreened onto the fabric after the assembly of spiral-shaped pattern. This cushion is a playful take on the meaning of a "fairy ring" as the purpose of a cushion is to be sat on.
