Bumpy Frame

Spring, 2023

Inspired by the textural patterns and various shapes of fungi, the fabric explores a sculptural and interactive surface of textile in interior space. Referencing Tomoko Nakamichi's "Pattern Magic", the stoll-knitted fabric is lasercut into strips of panels. Then, the edges were sewn together to create the cubical shapes. Imagine nesting small items in each slot or inputing touch-sensors to every block to make it playful!
